MY ROLE
Brand & Graphic Designer
Movies Under the Stars, an outdoor movie series hosted by Downtown Sacramento Partnership every October needed more personality. To turn this event into a yearly staple, we needed unique branding that people would adore.
THE OUTCOME
The best Halloween movies share an important quality. They’re campy! The final branding for this event embraces a bit of camp with 1950’s-style dramatic characters and a distressed typeface. Additionally, though well suited for Halloween, the brand has the potential to shift to other months with an updated color scheme.

The Final Branding in Action
With a campy edge, the new branding caught people’s attention and gave the event a cult-like following. All 500+ tickets sold the year the rebrand launched, all 700+ tickets sold the following year, and ALL 1,400+ tickets sold the year after that.
