Process

I worked with the Data Analyst to first collect data from each department that best represented the organization’s goals and efforts over the past year. Once we had all of the data compiled, we worked together to find ways to accurately and transparently display everything.

The entire report went through several reviews. Each department head reviewed their section, then our Communications Specialist reviewed it as a whole, and then our Deputy Director reviewed it several times. Through all of this collaboration and rounds of review, I was able to perfect the report.

I was also able to play an active role in the print process to ensure the colors and quality reflected our organization’s standards.

Lessons Learned

This project strengthened my ability to adapt and was a great reminder on managing feedback from several different people to form constructive collaborations. I wanted our annual report to be a digital entity, but that ended up being out of our budget. There were also questions initially about whether we would be designing the report in house or hiring a designer. This project threw a lot of quick changes to me, but I was able to keep it on track and meet every deadline by staying calm and working fast.
